A mini banner!

I wanted some very cool banners for a wall in my house so I came up with this.

 To me, it's old world... my rooster thinks he's kinda old world too, so I figure it's a nice match.

Recipe:

Cricut Potpourri Basket (see more info below)
Salvaged wrapping paper, scraps and cardstock
Tulle (that scratchy stuff that makes you think of bridal veils... you can get it on spools)
Tiny buttons
Oxford Impressions stamps. (These stamps are my very favorite in this genre.)
Zip Dry glue
Zig 2 way glue pen
Provo Craft fancy edge scissors
Staz-On ink pad
standard hole punch
Stampin' Up ribbon

I started with my Cricut and the Potpourri Basket cartridge. The pennant shapes (little triangles) are actually from a Christmas tree image on the cartridge. I just cut the bottom off. It was hard to believe I didn't have a triangular shape on any other carts that I could use. Maybe I didn't look hard enough!

 I cut three sizes, starting with 3 inch "Christmas tree". I cut everything out of salvaged papers that I have collected.  The one above on the Cricut mat was actually wrapping paper from a gift from my friend Angela.  Seems that most of my most favorite finds come from something she has given me! I cut the bottoms off (see original shape above) and then cut 2 3/4 size and finally 1 3/4 size "trees"... again, cutting the bottom detail off.

 Here you see them laid out on a tray (this is my favorite vintage dinner tray. I use it often, and for a zillion things!) First, I glued the large and medium triangles together with my zig 2 way pen and placed the smaller sized ones between each larger one.  (See completed banner if this doesn't make sense).  I then put the stamps on them to decide how I wanted the images to flow on the banner.  Once that was decided, I stamped with black Staz-On (by the way, the special cleaner is worth buying) and then punched holes with a standard hole puncher.  The holes are carefully punched in each corner.  Why carefully? It is easy to go outside of the corner and you have to recreate that piece. 

 Above, you can see where the holes are punched.  I used the red excess paper on the right to test stamp a few images I've never used before.  That's a good idea so you'll know how to properly stamp it.

 Adding the ribbon and tulle:  I used ribbon from Stampin' Up! of which I am a distributor. (hint! You can order from me!) First I ran the ribbon through and strung the entire first banner. Then I came back with the tulle and strung it behind the ribbon.  As you can see, the small pennants are glued behind the larger ones to give the banner more dimension. Here's where I used the Zip Dry. It's pretty serious glue and I enjoy working with it.
